Hepatitis C (HCV)
HCV is a glycoprotein that belongs to the albumin family and is synthesized primarily by fetal hepatocytes and the yolk sac. Alpha-fetoprotein has a high concentration in fetal blood circulation, but it decreases after birth. Alpha-fetoprotein is basically replaced by albumin in 2 to 3 months after birth, which is difficult to detect in blood, so the content in adult serum is very low. Alpha-fetoprotein has many important physiological functions, including transport function, two-way regulatory function as a growth regulator, immune suppression, T lymphocyte apoptosis induction, etc. Alpha-fetoprotein is closely related to the occurrence and development of liver cancer and a variety of tumors, and can be used as a positive detection index in a variety of tumors. At present, it is mainly used as a serum marker of primary liver cancer, which is used for the diagnosis and curative effect monitoring of primary liver cancer.
